Rockman 9, or Mega Man 9 as most of us out of Japan know it, is making huge waves in the gaming industry. Instead of making a brand new, HD (or 3d) Mega Man 9, Capcom decided go to the series' roots, and bring Mega back to the 8-bit world, ignoring the smooth graphics of Mega Man 7 on the SNES, and Mega Man 8 on the PS1 and Saturn. That left me wondering: What would the latter two Mega Man games look like if Capcom had created them for the NES? Luckily, a Japanese fan has the answer to half of that: Rockman 7, recreated using 8-bit graphics, as a free game for the PC! The Japanese fan did an absolutely stunning job. Just about everything made the transition, from the levels, the characters, the items, and right down to the music, recreated with all of the 8-bit glory from years ago. The physics are down right amazing, especially for a fan game. Simply put, this is one game that any Mega Man fan cannot bear to go without trying at least once. Below you'll find a nice video of Dr. Wily's first stage, along with a link to download the game!
Download the Game! (Windows Only, works fine in Parallels on OSX) Special thanks to Crusher for reminding me where to download it. Tags: Mega Man 7 Mega Man 9 Rockman |
